Formerly known as the Waco Pond Society, the group's
name was officially changed on January 20, 2009,
to the Heart of Texas Water Garden and Pond
Society.

The Waco Pond Society was established in March of
1998, and for over 10 years was dedicated to encouraging
folks in Central Texas to join in the fun and pleasure
derived from Water Gardening and Ponding. Their goal
was to share with others their knowledge, plants, fish, & tips,
and simply to have a good time! Much of the success
of the early growth of the WPS was due to the hard
work of the members and contributions from many area
organizations and businesses.
In ten years a lot of things change, and unfortunately,
corporate support dropped, and the WPS membership roster
became stagnant and gradually started to decline. But
the heart of the group refused to give up, and with
a new name and a renewed sense of purpose and commitment
to the original goals of sharing and teaching, and
having a good time, the Heart Of Texas Water Garden
and Pond Society is looking forward to making their
presence known in the area. If you have a city or community
project that could use some assistance or guidance
from a group of knowledgable people with almost 100
years of combined experience, please contact us and
let's see what we can develop together.
